#suffolkjelly feedback

Wow. Jellymania has hit Suffolk! ——> Take part in making the next one happen CLICK HERE

This Monday saw the first Jelly in Suffolk happen all day at the Eastern Enterprise Hub. We had a great turnout, people arriving before we had opened the doors at 11m. They sat down, had coffee on the table, laptops open and were working away in an instant. People arrived all through the day without any idea of what to expect.. it was great! There were lots of people, lots of cakes, ideas flowing, introductions being made, meetings held, phone conferences and plenty of admiring comments about the great working space at EeHub..

Throughout the day we had a number of soapbox sessions where people were invited to talk for five minutes about a project they were working on or just something they were passionate about.. at the same time full use was made of the whiteboard wall at EeHub to draw out supporting plans, ideas and contacts… see pics! These were very informal sessions ..

Here’s the list of speakers, if you were there and you were inspired by something you heard I’m sure any of the people below would love to hear from you..most are on twitter – just google them.

Emma Jell introduced the Jelly, Suffolk Digital
Digby Chacksfield - Introducing EEHub
Jamie Riddell - Shiny new gadgets for you to explore
Judi Newman - LocalGiving.com & Impact of Suffolk Twestival
Cathy Shelbourne - Top 5 soapbox tips
Simon Grice - BeLocal.com
Steve Butterworth - Citizen Journalism
Steven Allman - Out and about
Stephen Aguilar-Millan - Why the World needs Futures
Andrew Walker - Thin Martian / tweetminster

I came away feeling that I hadn’t got a jot of work done ( I’m always over optimistic about what can be achieved and certainly I did kind of expect not to get any work done – after all I was organising the day ;) but I did feel really inspired by listening to and meeting various people throughout the day. So, on reflection I realised I didn’t output much work that day but I inputted loads. I learnt about some very cool stuff happening in Suffolk and beyond, I made some great contacts for the future, I did have a couple of meetings with people who I’d been planning to get together with but there never seemed to be enough time in our schedules, and I ticked off one big item on my to-do list “hold Jelly” – all in all this left me really energised about the rest of my week. But what about you? We’d like to know how it was for you!

We had some great instant feedback post-event on facebook but would love it if you could spend two minutes answering some questions about the day. This will help us to carry on holding more Jellys if we can prove the value for all those who attended.. and who will attend next time!  We’d also welcome your thoughts on how to shape future Jellys – if at all e.g. next time we probably won’t have so many soapbox sessions because we really do want to output some work during the day too! This first Jelly was all about getting a flavour for what could happen… and we already have a few offers to host more Jellys which is fantastic :) BIG thank you to the team at the Eastern Enterprise Hub for helping make this happen.

JUST TEN QUICK QUESTIONS TO ANSWER HERE! Free cakes for everyone who takes part :)
